Prince Harry is expected to divert attention from Prince William and Kate Middleton as they reportedly prepare for a major visit to the US.
According to reports, Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to join King Charles and Queen Camilla during next year’s US events marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
A source told OK! Magazine that Palace aides are said to be carefully planning events to prevent overlapping appearances.
They said the precautionary measures are being taken as past trips have often seen public moments from Harry closely follow those of William.
"It's turned into a back-and-forth,” the insider said. “Whenever William makes an official appearance, Harry quickly follows with his own moment in front of the cameras.”
“The trip to the U.S. is the Waleses signaling enough is enough,” they added.
The source further noted that Kate, the Princess of Wales, wants the visit to stay focused on duty and unity and is taking a strong role in keeping distractions away.
"She's firm in her stance now. There's simply no space for disruption — and definitely not from Harry and Meghan,” a Kensington Palace source said.
Her firm approach is said to be helped by a growing friendship with US First Lady Melania Trump, which started during the September state visit.
"They've stayed in contact, and it's smoothing the path forward,” the source continued. “This upcoming U.S. trip by William and Kate isn't just about diplomatic bridge-building.”
“It's a statement – the future of the Crown arriving in America, which will dwarf Harry and Meghan's presence in the country by showing how unimportant they really are in comparison to the pomp and circumstance that will surround William and Kate."
