Since moving into Forest Lodge, Kate Middleton and Prince William have faced a flurry of anger from their neighbors, but former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has just offered her verdict on what she thinks will be on the forefront of the Windsors’ minds this holiday season.
She shared everything with The Mirror and started off by calling 2025 a ‘special year’ for the family given that its barely been a few months in their new home of Forest Lodge.
Plus, “putting up Christmas decorations is always exciting, but decorating a new house is doubly so.” This prompted her to add, “I’m sure they’ll also be putting up decorations at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, but I wonder whether they will spend a bit more time than usual in their Windsor home during the school holidays? It must still be fresh and new to them.”
She did make sure to highlight the growing anger among neighbors who have had a few areas closed off to them, as well as some roads rerouted towards a longer route and to the expert, “William and Catherine must be aware that there is some local disquiet about the diversion around their house. But it was only to be expected” she feels. “I’m sure people will soon get used to the longer route and understand the need for security,” she also added in relation to the uprooting many families faced.
However, with there being less than a month to Christmas she also pointed out what the Wasles’ kids must be hoping for, from their royal parents.
For every kid, Ms Bond noted, “I doubt whether William and Catherine will be able to resist the temptation to spoil them, just as all young parents enjoy spoiling their children – if they are fortunate enough to have the money.”
“I imagine George will be hoping for some more video games – William has revealed that is elder son is very keen on computer games. Charlotte will probably be happy with anything sporty. She loves her soccer and gymnastics and horse riding. She’s also very keen on dance.”
Furthermore, “as for Louis, he is very enthused about the trampoline – so maybe a small indoor trampoline would go down well. But I’m sure their parents will come up with all sorts of fun surprises for the kids,” she added before concluding.
