Kate Middleton is currently facing a monumental shift as 2026 approaches, particular relating to Meghan Markle and her chances at a reconciliation for the sake of family.

A well placed inside source broke the Princess’ hopes down in her interview for Heat World.

The chat showed the insider admit, “Kate wants next year to be one of peace in every area of her life. And to make that happen, she’s accepted she needs to reach out to Meghan and wave the white flag.”

This is a consideration despite the source admitting, “it’s not that Kate doesn’t still have resentment towards Meghan – she doesn’t trust her and has no plans to be close friends – but she does feel that William and Harry’s chances of reconciling would be a lot greater if she and Meghan were able to find some common ground.”

After all, even in her own family “growing up, Kate was always the peacemaker between her brother James and sister Pippa,” the insider said.

Even in general “she's always been a very diplomatic person,” and “it's in her nature to want harmony,” they added. Hence “she's more than ready for the healing to begin with Meghan and knows someone has to make the first move. So, she's decided It might as well be her.”

A big reason for her change in heart is because “Kate knows it will have to happen in stages - someone just needs to open a channel of communication.” Plus Kate “feels this is something she needs to do to set an example for William. If she's leaning on him so hard to make peace with Harry, she ought to take her own advice and find a way through this feud with Meghan.”

As it stands “this is as much for Kate's own peace of mind as it is for William's and Harry's. She knows she'll feel better when she's done what's right.”
