Johnny Depp is feeling overwhelmed by the love he received from fans in Japan.
The 62-year-old actor made his first visit to Japan in eight years and was warmly welcomed at Tokyo Comic-Con.
The three-day event held at Tokyo’s Makuhari Messe Convention Center drew almost 97,000 attendees making it the highest number of people ever attended the event in Tokyo Comic-Con history.
A source revealed to People that Depp was moved by the immense love by the fans in Tokyo.
“Johnny is feeling overwhelmingly touched by the fan receptions he's received,” the insider told the outlet.
“He sees and recognizes all those who have stood by and supported him through these last several years," the tipster said of Depp's ups and downs.
“It was his first trip back to Japan in eight years, and while much has changed since then, their love for Johnny remains steadfast," the bird chirped.
"Tokyo has always held a special place in Johnny's heart,” the source added. “He's very much enjoyed his stay and can't wait to return."
Moreover, the organizer expressed admiration for Depp's work by presenting a piece of artwork, showcasing his character Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean in Japanese Anime TV series One Piece. The artwork was made by Eiichiro Oda.
