Meghan Markle has been mocked by a festive display close to her home, which dubs her a "holiday hypocrite" and "villain of the year".
Just up the road from her and Prince Harry’s mansion in Montecito, California, fashion retailer Kitson set up a holiday exhibition which showcased "villains."
The accusations against her were that she "won't let go of her royal status" and that she and husband Prince Harry are "disliked by Americans". The display featured a photo of the Duchess of Sussex surrounded by news headlines about her from the last 12 months.
The other villains included California governor Gavin Newsom, George Clooney and Katy Perry.
The department store has been doing the display since 2020 and featured the Sussexes that year on a clothing line, asking customers to choose between Team Meghan and Harry or Team William and Kate.
This comes after Prince Harry and Meghan received a backlash over a slew of recent moves.
Meghan has been heavily mocked over her decision to be formally announced as "Meghan, Duchess of Sussex" to the Harper’s Bazaar interviewer despite the journalist being the only other person there.
Harry was criticized for attending Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday celebrations amid Remembrance Weekend in November. The Duke was accompanied by Meghan and sported a poppy on his suit.
