Prince William refuses to comment on uncle Earl Spencer's book

Prince William has refused to comment on his uncle Earl Spencer’s book about his mother Princess Diana, where shocking claims have been made.

Royal expert Chris Ship took to X, formerly Twitter handle and shared a video of Prince William arriving at a royal engagement.

In the video, a few reporters can be heard asking Prince William about the book.

He also tweeted, “Prince William asked how he feels about his uncle’s book. He’s then asked if he has read Charles Spencer’s controversial Swan Song about his mother, Princess Diana, which contains contentious claims about William’s father, King Charles…”

Earl Spencer has alleged in his memoir that the then-Prince Charles told him "rest assured, we'll forget her soon enough", according to a report in the Daily Mail, which begins serialising the book.

King Charles took the unusual step last week of responding to criticism by the brother of his late first wife Diana, saying via a spokesperson that grief could impact reason, judgment and memory.

The memoir by the brother of Princess Diana detailing her life and troubled marriage to the now King Charles goes on sale on Tuesday today, complete with the incendiary claim that the monarch was "giddily elated" at her death.
