Prince Harry takes a dig at Trump over immigration policies
The Duke of Sussex made a appearance at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel.
Prince Harry took a swipe at US President Donald Trump over his immigration policies during a speech at British American Council Gathering in Santa Monica after the World Cup draw took place.
It comes after his recent appearance on Stephen Colbert's show where he took a dig at Trump by declaring that America had "elected a King."
Speaking at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel on Friday, he said that football supporters would need to "behave, get through customs and past ICE" to attend next year's World Cup.
His quip about immigration enforcement drew hoots of laughter from the assembled guests, delivered on the same day that President Trump attended the World Cup draw.
Harry also addressed the upcoming tournament's British contingent, noting that England and Scotland have already secured their places, while Wales and Northern Ireland still face play-off matches.
"The British are coming, hungry for victory and they're thirsty," he told the audience, continuing his light-hearted tone throughout the speech.
In march last year, Trump said if Prince Harry lied on his visa application about drug-taking he would seek to take "appropriate action" if he won November's presidential election.
In March this year, the US government released documents related to a court battle over Prince Harry's 2020 visa application but redacted large portions, saying it had a duty to protect his privacy and there was no evidence he received special treatment.
The US president has on many occasions criticized Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.
