Meghan Markle's dad Thomas Markle had to get a major surgery
Meghan Markle’s stranged father Thomas Markle has been moved out of the intensive care unit and into a regular hospital room

The surgery occurded in Cebu, Philippines and the doctors there are happy with Markle’s recovery progres.
His surgeon Dr Neil Sanico shared details of his recovery with his permission.
"'The surgery was a success and the wound is healing well. Mr Markle is making good progress. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him but moving out of the ICU and into a regular room is a positive step," he told the outlet.
Explaining why amputation had to happen, he said, "There was no option but amputation."
"The clot was so large we could not risk removing it first and then having the infection from the foot spread around his body and cause sepsis. There was a danger of gangrene setting in," he continued.
As for Markle’s recovery, Neil said, "He has a long road ahead of him but I am pleased with the way he came through surgery and the positive attitude he has shown since. He is a strong and brave man."
Thomas Markle moved to Cebu in January this year. According to various reports, Meghan Markle has reached out to her ailing dad after hearing of his surgery.
