Jane Seymour says she often has to remind herself she’s in her 70s because she doesn’t feel it.
The actress, 74, made the confession as she chatted with People on the 20th anniversary of Wedding Crashers.
Seymour added that she still feels 20 to 30 years younger with the same energy she had in her forties.
She creditted constant work, including 12- to 14-hour filming days and learning pages of dialogue without cue cards for keeping her sharp and energised.
“I keep pushing myself because I love what I do,” she told the outlet.
The actress admitted that her family life also contributes significantly to keeping her feeling young.
Despite children in their early 40s and grandchildren she’s actively involved with, Seymour says she’s never been placed in the “older person” box. “I’m part of their social circle,” she said.
She also expressed pride in the roles she picks, including her famous Wedding Crashers role for its message that women over 50 can still be sexy.
“I turn 75 next year and I’m very sexually active,” she declared, adding that her fans also frequently tell her she inspires them.
“There is life after 70,” she said, adding that she feels more energised than many younger colleagues. And she has no plans to slow down. “I’m not winding down. I’m winding up,” she said.
