Sarah Ferguson has received accommodation offers from her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Citing a report in The Times, GB News on Thursday reported that Princess Beatrice has reportedly made available a granny annexe at her Cotswolds residence.
The report said her youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, has asked her mother to use her Portuguese holiday property for occasional respite.
However, people close to Andrew's former wife think that neither arrangement represents a suitable permanent solution to her housing situation.
Referring to sources, GB News reported that Ferguson is actively searching for a property of her own in the Windsor area.
Quoting friends, the outlet reported that the former Duchess of York is eager to establish a life separate from Andrew.
A source told The Times that Ferguson's determination to remain in Britain, stating: "She wants to stay in the UK, ideally in the Windsor area, and she wants to have her own base so that she can live independently and continue to pursue many things as Sarah Ferguson."
It comes as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has formally submitted notice to vacate Royal Lodge, though the minimum required period of 12 months means he remains responsible for the Windsor property throughout the coming year.
Following months of resistance, the Duke appears disinclined to rush his departure.
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was stripped of his royal titles late last month due to his links to the late sex offender Jeffery Epstein.
King Charles also ordered him to vacate his Royal Lodge residene.
Sarah Ferguson lost her Duchess of York title after Andrew said on October 17 that he won't be using his Duke of York title.
