Michelle Pfeiffer is not sure of her sense of humour despite being cast in movies like Hairspray and Married to the Mob.

While conversing with PEOPLE magazine along with her Oh. What. Fun. costar Denis Leary, the 67-year-old American actress and film producer revealed that she was hesitant when it came to acting in director Michael Showalter’s amusingly eccentric Christmas comedy.

Giving voice to her thoughts, Pfeiffer said of Showalter, “You're in good hands with him no matter what he does, but if you're going to do comedy and a little bit of a screwball comedy, you couldn't be in better hands.”

The three-time Oscar nominee recalled, “And so, I was a little nervous because it was zany, and I also don't ever think that I'm funny, so when I committed to do it, I remember saying to Michael, ‘Okay, I'm going to do this, but you better make me funny.’”

“So, that was our running joke throughout filming, but I'm so glad I did it and some of those things,” she shared.

For those unaware, in the forthcoming film Oh. What. Fun., Pfeiffer portrays an overlooked Christmas-loving mother, Claire Clauster, who indulges in hosting a perfect holiday for her husband, Nick Clauster (played by Denis Leary), and their three children, Chloë Grace Mortez, Felicity Jones, and Dominic Sessa, and their partners. However, her family forgets her in the shuffle and when they realize, the underappreciated mother takes off on her own adventure.

It is pertinent to mention that Oh. What. Fun. is set to be released on December 3, 2025, on Prime Video.
