North West's pal FKA twigs reveals how she helped heal her inner child
The singer called North West a 'tenacious' person
North West's pal, FKA twigs, opened up about working with her "confident friend" North on her new album, Eusexua.
In a recent chat with Rolling Stone UK, the 37-year-old singer talked about her 3rd studio album, released in January 2025.
The album included North, who rapped in Japanese on the track, Childlike Things, and electronic musician Koreless.
FKA twigs, whose real name is Tahlia Debrett Barnett, gushed over North, who is the oldest daughter of reality star Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West, noting that collaborating with the 12-year-old was meaningful.
“I feel like she’s seen so much and she’s so mature in a lot of ways, especially emotionally,” FKA twigs told the outlet, who wrote the song when she was 12 or 13 years old.
Sharing insights into their interactions, FKA twigs noted, “We went for a few dinners, and she said things that were big and profound."
"I felt taken aback by her observations of humility that were very on the nose and very true to the things that I’ve learned as an adult," the English singer added.
FKA twigs further revealed that writing the song was like healing her inner child, “I was bullied at school and didn’t really have that really close girlfriendship, so ‘Childlike Things’ was healing — to give the child in me, who was a bit of a loner when I wrote that song, a tenacious, confident friend like North West, to come and hang out with.”
