Celebrity Traitors star Ruth Codd shares update after second leg amputation
The Irish actor previously lost her right leg following a football injury
Celebrity Traitors star Ruth Codd has confirmed she is recovering from her second below-knee amputation.
The 29-year-old Irish actor, who previously lost her right leg following a football injury that led to years of surgeries and chronic pain, revealed in a TikTok video that she has now undergone the same procedure on her left leg.
Codd told followers she was back filming videos in her parents’ home, but was unable to use her old upstairs setup. “I’ve just had my second below-knee amputation,” she said. “A lot to unpack there for everyone involved.” She also introduced her new wheelchair, which she jokingly named “Fat Tony”.
In recent weeks, Codd explained that chronic complications forced the decision. Speaking on FFTV, she revealed she had all her toes removed in 2021 after spending eight years on crutches, which left her foot “never going to get any better”.
She added that the condition limited her ability to work and perform. Codd said her recovery will require at least a month of healing before she can be fitted for a prosthetic.
The actor first gained a following on TikTok for her comedy and disability-awareness content and has since appeared in The Midnight Club, The Fall of the House of Usher, and The Celebrity Traitors.
