Kelsea Ballerini sparks theories with new song after Chase Stokes reunion
Kelsea Ballerini leaves fans speculating about Chase Stokes romance after new release
Chase Stokes and Kelsea Ballerini are back together, which gave her listeners an interesting pretext for her latest release, Mount Pleasant.
The 32-year-old country star has a song, Emerald City, which startled fans with the lyrics after its release on Friday, November 14.
Ballerina sings, “I always liked the color of my eyes ’til I knew she had brown / I’m green. Always liked my naive innocence ’til I learned she got around / I’m green,” on the song, which fans believe refers to Stokes’ ex Madelyn Cline.
Soon after the release, fans flocked to X, and began theorising, with one writing, “Kelsea Ballerini ‘Emerald City’…. Madelyn Cline?”
Another echoed, “Well, that was a good EP. There was one song where she recounts fighting Madelyn Cline for Stokes.”
While a third chimed in, “Madelyn Cline & ‘Chaddie’ stans spent Kelsea/Chase’s entire relationship comparing them & saying how miserable he looked with her, hoping he’d leave her for Maddie. Now that kelsea says she felt jealous & insecure because of that they attack her for it ijbol.”
The I Quit Drinking hitmaker has not addressed the speculations, but fans found the similarities between the woman described and Cline striking to be a coincidence.
This comes after Ballerini and the Outer Banks star appear to have gotten back together after their “brief” split. Insiders reported that the couple is willing to work on the issues that led to their breakup, and believe their love is worth a second try.
