Trump orders DOJ to probe Clinton, others over Epstein ties

President Donald Trump made a major announcement regarding the Epstein files via his social media platform Truth Social on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Trump wrote, “Now that the Democrats are using the Epstein Hoax, involving Democrats, not Republicans, to try and deflect from their disastrous SHUTDOWN and all of their other failures.”

The President Donald Trump announced, “I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions to determine what was going on with them and him.”

U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi later on Friday confirmed the launch of the investigation on Trump’s orders, giving Jay Clayton the lead of the federal probe.

She wrote on X, “Thank You, Mr. President,” which also included the screenshot of Trump’s post that he shared on Truth Social.

While onboard Air Force One en route to Mar-a-Lago for the weekend, Trump speaks out for the first time, addressing the controversy since the Epstein files were made public.

Trump told reporters, “He and Epstein had a very bad relationship for years.”

“When you talk about the Epstein hoax, what happens is, you’re not talking about how well we’ve done,” Trump added.

“That’s the whole purpose behind them. They want to waste people’s time, and some of the dumber Republicans like that, but it’s mostly Democrats, by the way.”

President Donald Trump earlier this year tried to convince Republicans to block a discharge petition in the US House forcing a vote on the release of the Epstein files.

Now after the swearing in of the House Democrat, Adelita Grijalva, the petition reaches the 218th signature on the bill that will force a House vote to release the Epstein files.
