Stars and Family Celebrate Eddie Murphy at Heart-warming Premiere
Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence share heartfelt hug at ‘Being Eddie’ premiere
Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence made public appearance since their children Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence got married.
Murphy, who had his breakout role in Saturday Night Live at age of 19, shared his journey from teenage comedian to Hollywood legend in his new documentary, Being Eddie.
Being Eddie includes honest reflections from Murphy himself, along with heartfelt insights from fellow stars. Highlighting his creativity, sharp sense of humour and staying power in showbiz.
During the Los Angeles premiere of the documentary, the Coming to America star was swamped by his family members, including his wife Paige Butcher and his children.
The Beverly Hills actor was also enthusiastically embraced by his long-time pal and now a family member, Lawrence.
The duo had worked together on two films Boomerang (1992) and Life (1999). Following their children marriage, Murphy revealed that they have a "bunch of ideas" for an on-screen collaboration since becoming family members.
"['It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World'] is an old movie from the '60s that I want to remake and do with all funniest, like, a who's who of Black comics. That's what I want to do. And, of course, Martin would be in that," he told the ABC News.
Witnessing their heartfelt hug, fans on social media swooned over their decades long friendship.
"They look great. Glad they still have a friendship and continue to support each other," wrote one user.
Another fan referring to their film Boomerang, said, "That’s that hug from Boomerang! Bring it in!"
"We need one more movie from them 2," said a third user.
While there is no news of their on-screen collaboration happening soon, fans can catch with Murphy’s personal insight of his life as a Hollywood star in Being Eddie slated for release on November 12.
