Eddie Murphy, who has been voicing the Shrek’s donkey even since the inception of the film series, has confessed that he would continue to do it forever.
Now that the fifth sequel of the popular animated franchise is in works, Murphy is excited to return to his old character.
In a statement, he added, "I’ve always said I would do Shrek forever.”
The 64-year-old expressed his excitement about Shrek 5 while talking to The Hollywood Reporter.
He added, "Donkey is a great character to play. I love the whole cast. So, I was excited when it was like, 'Hey, they’re doing another one,' and they want to do a Donkey one, too. I’m totally into it. I come in too hot, every vocal session."
Even though, Murphy loves playing the character of Donkey, he still says that it gets a little exhausting sometimes.
The Beverly Hills Cop star confesses that he gets a headache after doing a Shrek session.
“Nothing’s worse than working really hard on something, and doing makeup and sweat and all this shit, and then you put it out, and they’d be like, 'Two thumbs down.' You go, 'I was in the makeup chair for 50 hours”, revealed Eddie.
The fifth installment of the Shrek is set to come out on June 30, 2027. Besides Eddie, Cameron Diaz, Mike Myers and Zendaya will be voicing Princess Fiona, Shrek and Felicia respectively.
