Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington in Stranger Things, officiated his friend’s wedding in an unusual outfit.
Last month, Keery made headlines when a video of him leading a wedding ceremony in Scoops Ahoy costume went viral.
Reported by Irish Star, during the Stranger Things season five premiere in Los Angeles, his co-star Maya Hawke asked Joe to explain the reason for his outfit choice.
"You officiated a wedding in the Scoops Ahoy outfit?" she asked. Keery replied, "It was a Halloween wedding for my friend, Veronica and Matt. And so, everyone was dressed up but the picture only shows them in their wedding dress and just me in the Scoops Ahoy costume.”
Hawke then asked Keery, whether the bride and groom had specifically asked him to dress as his character.
"It was her request," he admitted, adding that the costume he wore was actually the original one from the series. Hawke then asked Keery if the costume still fit, and he replied, "It was a little...It felt a little different."
Stranger Things fifth and final season will follow Hawkins reeling from the chaos caused by the Rifts. The group must reunite to hunt down Vecna who disappeared after his last attack.
The series will premiere in three volumes releasing on November 26, Christmas and then on New Year.
