Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo earn nomination in Best Pop Duo for ‘Defying Gravity’
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were over the moon when they learned about their nomination in 68th Grammy Awards.
During their stop in Paris for Wicked: For Good press tour, the multi-hyphenate stars had a tearful moment when they heard from there cast mates that they had been nominated.
They earned the nomination in Best Duo/Group Performance for Defying Gravity, which centres around Erivo's Elphaba alongside featuring vocals from Grande's Glinda.
In addition to this, the British star was also nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Arrangement, Instrumental, or A Cappella category for Be Okay, one of the standout tracks from her second studio album I Forgive You.
The Stand Up singer took to her Instagram expressing her gratitude on being nominated in music's biggest event.
"Don’t really have any words," she wrote in her caption. "These last couple of years have been beyond the dream, and I’m just really grateful. Thank you. @recordingacademy @republicrecords @ververecords."
Erivo and Grande are up against the following nominees, Golden by Huntr/x: Ejae, Audrey Nuna, Rei Ami (KPop Demon Hunters), Gabriela by KATSEYE, Apt. by Rosé and Bruno Mars and 30 for 30 by SZA and Kendrick Lamar.
The 68th Grammy Awards are to air on February 1, 2026.
