Google Chrome expands autofills to highly sensitive information
Google is set to roll out its enhanced autofill feature for the Chrome browser
Google Chrome has rolled out its enhanced autofill feature, allowing it to automatically recognize, save and fill in highly sensitive data such as passport, driver’s license, and vehicle information on web forms.
Chrome previously had the capabilities to complete your addresses, passwords, and payment information.
However, desktop users who enabled the improved autofill feature will automatically see a variety of personal data suggestions on web pages when prompted.
It includes sensitive details such as passport and driver’s license numbers as well as vehicle specifications like VINs or license plate numbers.
The Chrome browser can let you understand complex forms and distinct formatting requirements, which will enhance precision across the web.
In this connection, California-based tech giant underlines that Chrome only saves autofill data when you explicitly allow it to do so and that the browser will save this information through encryption.
The new autofill updates will be available internationally in all languages starting Monday.
The significant announcement comes as Google adds functionality to Chrome, representing an expansion of convenience and efficiency while introducing new security to handle highly sensitive information.
