Trump’s viral Halloween antic sparks laugh at White House celebration
Donald Trump, Melania Trump hosted the 67th annual Halloween trick-or-treating event
US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted the 67th annual Halloween trick-or-treating event on the South Lawn of the White House on October 30, 2025.
The celebration at the White House welcomed hundreds of children belonging to administrative officials, law enforcement, and military families.
The president greeted trick-or-treaters warmly and pulled out his viral antic at the Halloween event on Thursday night.
Trump, accompanied by the first lady Melania Trump distributed candy among children outside White House who were dressed in different costumes.
The night’s most-talked moment came when Trump placed a candy bar on top of a child’s light-up mask, sparking laughs at the celebration.
The widely-circulating Trump’s gesture on social media showed resemblance to a viral incident from Halloween 2019, when the president put candy on a child’ head fully dressed in a Minion costume.
The viral and playful act has taken the internet by storm.
One user wrote, "President Trump DOES IT AGAIN! He just recreated the time he placed a candy bar on a kid's head for Halloween 6 years ago. We are SO BACK!”
The other commented, “And he just kept the line moving. Legend.”
