Sean “Diddy” Combs's 50-month sentence is being considered to be commuted as early as this week, a high-level source has revealed.

“The president is vacillating on a commutation. We’re told some of the W.H. staff are urging Trump not to commute the sentence. But, our source states the obvious….,” a White House official told TMZ.

The report further stated, “Trump will do what he wants, and we’re told Trump could set Diddy free as early as this week.”

Combs was charged with prostitution-related charges involving two of his girlfriends on October 3, 2025.

“Diddy” is now serving a 50-month prison sentence after a federal court judge in New York City sentenced him last month, with a fine of $500,000.

The music mogul has already served 13 months of imprisonment, and with credit, he could get out in around 2 years-but that scenario doesn’t matter if Trump decides to commute his sentence.

Just days after Diddy was sentenced, Trump spoke with the media at the Oval Office, saying he was aware of the ask: “A lot of people have asked me for pardons. I call him Puff Daddy; he has asked me for a pardon.”

How many people has Trump granted clemency to so far?

If Trump proceeds, it wouldn’t mark the first time extending clemency to a high-profile individual. Donald Trump commuted former Congressman George Santos's sentence last Friday.

Throughout his presidency, Trump routinely exercised his pardon authority to release or forgive headline-makers, from political allies to controversial celebrities.

The fact of the matter is that no official date has yet been set for Diddy’s potential commutation, but people close to the situation are hinting that the decision could come “very soon.”

That said, if President Trump does go ahead, it will reignite the debate about celebrity justice, as Sean “Diddy” Combs's relatively short sentence has already sparked massive backlash online.
