Palace issues update as Prince William takes inspiration for destined role

Prince William and Kate Middleton, who made a surprise appearance in Northern Ireland, marked an important visit to witness the blend of tradition and innovation as the couple continue their crucial mission.

The Prince of Wales has shared what he envisions for his reign once he takes the throne and it was keenly reflective during the tour of the Cider Farm, as they saw how the generations have been running the wheel. Meanwhile, Princess Kate was fully supportive and immersive right next to William.

As the couple wrapped their visit, Kensington Palace shared an update about the imprint the experience left on the Waleses.

“Finishing the day at Long Meadow Cider in County Armagh - a family-run farm blending tradition with innovation to create award-winning ciders and juices!” the statement read. “Now three generations strong, the McKeevers are growing opportunity and sustainability at the heart of Orchard County.”

They concluded, “Great to see the connection and love at the heart of everything they do here.”

The future king has expressed on numerous occasions how he plans to take his rule a step further from his father, King Charles, in terms of modernising the monarchy. He previously mentioned that he will be considering royals with a “small r” and more focussed on public service.

While royal experts and sources have shared that William will not be completely giving up on tradition, he will be making some big changes. However, the key traditions that define the monarchy will remain.

As an advocate of protecting the natural environment, evident in his work via the Earthshot Prize, William first-hand saw what it was like blending tradition with modernity, something he plans to implement in the future.
