Meghan Markle shares update after surprise appearance in Paris
The Duchess of Sussex marks big moment with debut at prestigious event
Meghan Markle left the public stunned as emerged in France for Paris Fashion Week, mingling with the stylish crowd at the prestigious event.
The Duchess of Sussex has travelled solo to support longtime friend and designer Pierpaolo Piccioli, who recently took on the position as Balenciaga’s new creative director.
Marking her debut appearance on Saturday, Meghan chose to wear a white oversized cape over a button-down shirt and loose pants of the same colour. For her next look, she was seen in an all-black dress with a similar silhouette mimicking cape detail.
Following the appearances, Meghan shared a special behind the scene update after a night of fashion indulgence. In the first IG Story, she was seen walking in her white outfit and black stilettos set to the tune of Julien Doré and Vitaa’s Viens on essaie. In the next Story, she was seen heading back to what appeared to be her hotel.
Meghan’s friendship with the designer goes back to when he used to work for Valentino and had been a big part of the Duchess’s big events, especially when she was a working royal.
A spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex also issued a statement after the Saturday show noting that this event marked the “first time back to the shows in over a decade”.
“Over the years, the duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo. They have worked closely together, collaborating on key moments on the world stage,” it continued.
“She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different,” adding that this show “reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship”.
