'Peaky Blinders': Most-loved Netflix series returning to screens after 4 years
Oscars winner, Cillian Murphy’s 'Peaky Blinders' confirmed for two new seasons to release on BBC and Netflix
Fans are thrilled to have a double-treat this season with Peaky Blinders announcing its comeback with two new series.
Excitement began when the much-awaited series announced their return after four years of long gap on October 3, 2025.
The Much-loved series Peaky Blinders will return with a bang to the BBC and Netflix.
The creator of the British historical crime drama, Steven Knight is bringing the new generation of Shelbys to the screens.
“I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride.”
Moreover, the British screenwriter and director reveals that the new Shelby characters will come to Peaky Blinders through two new seasons of six episodes each.
The plot will be based around the race to rebuild Birmingham after heavy bombing by the Luftwaffe and wrangling over the city’s new reconstruction project.
"Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz.”
Furthermore, the official synopsis unveils the storyline will be set in 1953, with Birmingham reconstructing after being heavily bombed in World War Two "with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart".
The series was first premiered on BBC Two in 2013 and Netflix later released the show in U.S. following the same year.
The news of the Peaky Blinder’s return was first shared and confirmed through its official Instagram page.
Director BBC Drama, Lindsay Salt, said, "This game -changing show made a huge impact when it first came to out screens 12 years ago and it is one of the BBC’s most-loved dramas.”
The spin-off is the latest incarnation in the Peaky Blinders multiverse series after the Rambert Studio’s Ballet about Tommy Shelby, the character played by Cillian Murphy and the upcoming movie which will see Murphy’s reprise role.
“Steven has worked his magic once again and I can’t wait for his scripts to be brought to life when filming begins in Birmingham. We are delighted to be working with Kudos, Garison Drama and Netflix on this epic show. There’s a plenty of drama for peaky fans to look forward to!”
In addition to that, Cillian Murphy’s historical crime drama sequel will be back with two new seasons following the franchise film The Immortal Man, scheduled to be release in 2026.
The exact release time and casting for the Peaky Blinder’s new crime drama series are yet to be determined decided however the series would be on-air on BBC One this time and will release on Netflix globally.
