Pedro Pascal, Mark Ruffalo defend Jimmy Kimmel following adjournment
Jimmy Kimmel has been making headlines nowadays following his deferral from his late-night show.
The 57-year-old renowned American TV host has been banned from his show for passing insensitive remarks on late Charlie Kirk.
His adjournment created a rift in Hollywood as many stars came forward lending him support. Some of them are namely Ben Stiller, Pedro Pascal, Jamie Lee Curtis, Mark Ruffalo and John Legend.
But the fact that many might not know is that Jimmy’s future at Disney was already in danger even before his show got axed.
According to sources, the comedian would have faced uncertainty with the ABC bosses anyways if this controversy had not happened.
Reports revealed that Kimmel “had just months left on his deal with Disney and was set to start negotiations with bigwigs later this year.”
As per Page Six, sources claim that ABC may be finding a way to push him out of the show after this season.
The publication further reported, “Sources said the network could’ve used the furore over his outspoken nightly monologues to pull the plug early and avoid another year of Kimmel’s controversial comments.”
Now that Jimmy has been suspended, he could pursue a payout cheque from ABC, says Page Six.
