The Duke of Sussex makes his first major public appearance in UK
Prince Harry made his first major public appearance on his four-day visit to the UK, winning hearts with his emotional return to the homeland.
The Duke of Sussex stole the spotlight as he arrived at the WellChild Awards ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of the organisation on Monday, September 8.
Harry, who kicked off the trip with his visit to the late Queen's grave on the third anniversary of her death, made a solo appearance at the the event to celebrate the achievements of seriously ill children and those who care for them.
Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet did not accompany Harry for the much awaited tour.
King Charles III's youngest son, who is patron of WellChild, delivered a heartbreaking speech at the ceremony amid speculation that he could meet the King during his stay in Britain.
Before leaving the US for the UK, Harry said: “I am always privileged to attend the WellChild Awards and meet the incredible children, families and professionals who inspire us all with their strength and spirit."
The royal continued: "For 20 years these Awards have highlighted the courage of young people living with complex health needs and shone a light on the devoted caregivers – family and professionals - who support them every step of the way."
In his heartbreaking message, the Duke admitted: "Their stories remind us of the power of compassion, connection and community."
In one of the pictures, Harry is seen engaging in playful 'fight' with nine-year-old girl, Gwen Foster, who was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus and faces daily complex medical challenges.
Public interest in Harry and Meghan remains high. However, Britons are less interested in their royal roles. According to a new report Harry and Meghan are among the most Googled personalities.
