Prince William presents new conditions for reunion amid Harry’s UK visit
Prince William ‘to agree’ for Prince Harry meeting if Duke of Sussex abides by one strict rule
Prince Harry may have made a grand public gesture for a reconciliation with the royal family, but his elder brother is still not impressed by the efforts.
The Duke of Sussex returned to the UK on the third death anniversary of their late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, on Monday. There has been talks about a potential meeting between King Charles and his estranged son, William had strictly opted out of the reunion, causing a strain on even his own relationship with the monarch.
A source shared that the onslaught of highly-publicised allegations about the royal family from Harry over the years has led to serious trust issues between the brothers, which will take a long time to heal.
Even though Harry has abstained from making any more jabs towards the royals and Meghan has also toned down her statements, the Prince of Wales still needs more assurity.
“William feels Harry has repeatedly chosen public exposure over private resolution and that the Royal Family can’t keep being dragged into the headlines every time there’s a new contract to promote,” an insider told The Mirror.
“The issue with Harry, as well as Meghan, is one of trust,” they explained. “Ever since moving to North America, they have eroded all confidence in their ability to keep things or their criticisms private.”
The source added that the only way the Sussexes will get a chance to move past the feud is if they are able to rebuild the trust and the “onus” is on Harry and Meghan.
