Elon Musk’s estranged daughter chooses modest life, rejects billion-dollar inheritance
Vivian Jenna Wilson publicly disassociated with her father in 2022 saying she no longer wants to ‘be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form’
Vivian Jenna Wilson, transgender daughter of billionaire Elon Musk, is creating her own path in Los Angeles, consciously rejecting her father’s vast wealth and the lifestyle that accompanies it.
In an interview with The Cut, the 21-year-old shared details of her lifestyle in a shared apartment with three roommates.
She also shared that she wants to be a model and doesn't want to pursue her father's business.
Despite being the eldest of Musk’s 14 children, Wilson claims she doesn’t have access to a significant trust or inheritance.
“People assume I have a lot of money. I don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars at my disposal,” she stated.
She acknowledged that her mother is undoubtedly also wealthy, but she has distanced herself from her father’s “unimaginable” fortune.
Wilson also expresses a distinct lack of desire to be “superrich,” valuing her independence and privacy above all.
This rift between father and daughter came into the limelight in 2022, when Wilson, then 18 years old, formally changed her name and gender, and legally disassociated herself from Musk.
Since that time, the relationship has been marked by public derision.
While campaigning on behalf of Trump and MAGA Republicans, Musk gave a harsh statement about Wilson.
He stated Wilson was “killed by the woke mind virus,” to which Wilson responded that she was very much alive.
She has described him as a “pathetic man-child,” "quick to anger," "uncaring," and "narcissistic" in her first interview to NBC and criticized his lack of acceptance.
The choice to embrace a simple life contrasts sharply with her experiences in exclusive backroom schools.
Her early school years, spent amidst the children of celebrities and other privileged peers, have sparked a heated online debate about the impact of wealth on freedom and family dynamics.
