Prince William's billionaire polo friend Sunjay Kapur dies in a tragic accident at the age of 53.
Mr. Kapur, who served as chairman of the global auto components giant Sona Comstar, suddenly collapsed while playing polo on Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, he was stung inside his mouth by a bee, which is believed to have triggered a severe anaphylactic reaction, ultimately leading to a cardiac arrest.
To note, Mr.Kapur, who was an Indian business tycoon was previously married to Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, who had spoken in past interviews about his polo games with the Prince of Wales.
He was well-known face on the elite polo circuit, which is often graced by members of the British Royal Family.
In a touching coincidence, just hours before his untimely death, Mr.Kapur had shared a social media post regarding the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.
Sona Comstar officially confirmed his death in a statement: 'He was a visionary leader whose passion, insight and dedication shaped the identity and success of our company.'
After parting ways with Karisma Kapoor, Mr.Kapur married Bollywood actress, Priya Sachdev Kapur. The couple welcomed their son, Azarias Kapur, in 2018.
