Meghan Markle raises concerns for Lilibet's future day before 4th birthday
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle are set to celebrate Princess Lilibet's special day
Meghan Markle sparked reactions after a shocking new report made public ahead of Princess Lilibet's fourth birthday.
For the unversed, there have been speculations that Prince Harry has reached out to his uncle, Earl Charles Spencer to "seek advice" related to dropping the Mountbatten-Windsor surname to honour his late mother's, Spencer.
However, reports claimed that Earl warned the Duke of Sussex about the severe consequences of his decision, which would also change the surnames of the Sussexes' children, Archie and Lilibet.
Now, discussing the ongoing rumours, royal experts believe that Meghan could be behind the surname change tactic in order to boost her business or prepare her daughter as the next Diana.
In conversation with GB, royal expert Charlotte Griffiths said, "The whole thing is a bit bizarre. It could be something to do with marketing because they're not allowed to market the royal name."
"They tried to set up a website called Sussex Royal and they were told no way, you can't be putting royal names on jams, so I just wonder whether they were trying to angle for a Spencer brand or something," she added.
Later, Charlotte recalled royal author Tom Bower's theory which said that Meghan "wanted to be closer to Diana" with the potential name change.
The royal commentator said, "Mountbatten-Windsor is Archie and Lilibet's surname. Lilibet's full name is Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, so if her surname was Spencer, it would become Lilibet Diana Spencer."
The name change controversy raised questions that Meghan might have "wanted her daughter to be sort of known as Diana Spencer, the new Princess of Wales."
In response, the show's host called the Duchess of Sussex's alleged decision for Lilibet "chilling."
