Shah Rukh Khan has recently turned heads with his youthful and stylish appearance as he makes his debut at the Met Gala 2025 on May 5.

The Swades actor was seen donning all-black ensemble designed by Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Interestingly, SRK’s entire look was complemented with several bold accessories, including a large sparkling ‘K’ dangling from a chain and a tiger head cane.

Despite being the most famous man in the world, the Jawan star revealed he was feeling jittery as he made his way to the event.

“I am very nervous,” confessed the 59-year-old while speaking to Vogue livestream hosts Ego Nwodim and Teyana Taylor.

SRK also shared that it was “Sabyasachi who convinced” him to attend the gala.

“I have not done too many red carpets, I am very shy,” said the Veer Zaara actor.

The King Khan stated, “For me it’s the first time but I am excited to be here.”

When asked the reason about his excitement, SRK replied, “I have little kids who are most excited about the Met.”

“I don’t know if I would have come here on my own, but when Sabya suggested that I should come, they went, ‘Wow’,” mentioned the Don actor.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind his attire, SRK pointed out, “I told Sabya I only wear black and white, but what he has designed for me is what I’m most comfortable in… That’s how I think it should be.”

Noting the idea behind the design, the King Khan explained, “For Sabya, it’s an expression of freedom.”

Meanwhile, Sabyasachi believed that this is the right time for SRK's debut as the gala celebrates Black designers and the legacy of Black dandyism this year.

“When you get a man like this on the red carpet, especially when it’s ‘Black dandy,’ representation is the most important thing,” remarked the designer.

Sabyasachi added, “We wanted to represent Shah Rukh Khan as Shah Rukh Khan, and nobody else.”
