Babil Khan recently revealed his plan to drop his surname following the release of his new film, Logout.
The 26-year-old celebrity, who is the son of the late star Irrfan Khan, is set to follow in his father’s footsteps by removing his surname.
During an exclusive interview with Filmfare, the Qala actor expressed his desire to let his “individuality” shine.
Speaking to the outlet, he said, “the lineage makes you a part of this conformity. It doesn’t let you go to your individuality.”
Babil continued, “To let your individuality shine, you have to let go of your lineage.”
The Friday Night Plan actor has often expressed admiration for his father on social media following the tragic passing of the Haider star in April 2020.
Taking to Instagram last year, he shared, “You taught me to be a warrior, but engage with love and kindness. You taught me of hope and you taught me to fight for the people. You do not have fans, you have a family, and I promise you baba I will fight for our people and our family till you call upon me.”
On the professional front, Babil recently starred in Amit Golani’s directorial, Logout.
The synopsis of the film reads, “Pratyush, a digital influencer nearing 10 million followers, gears up for a career milestone. His dreams shatter when his phone vanishes, leading him to lose control of his life to a stranger."
Logout, which revolves around a popular social media influencer, was released on ZEE5 on Friday, April 18.
