Emma Stone, Margaret Qualley’s Oscars feud rumours explained

Emma Stone and Margaret Qualley were captured in a heated moment at Oscars, which implied that the two had had a cutting interaction.

However, Nicole Hickling, a lip reader, analysed the clip and suggested otherwise.

“It looks like Margaret is about to square up in this scene, giving Emma her mean girl look,” Hickling told the Daily Mail of the viral video of Qualley and Stone’s interaction on March 2nd.

Although The Substance star and Stone appeared to be in a confrontational moment, Hickling said, “Don’t worry, they are not fighting.”

In fact, she added, “Margaret says to Emma, ‘Yeah, and I am about to freak out.'”

In the viral footage, Qualley is seen walking towards the La La Land star, talking animatedly and nodding her head as Stone backs away.

Qualley’s husband, Jack Antonoff, is also seen standing close to the pair in the video, but he does not interact with them.

“They do this all the time,” the lip reader explained to the outlet, referring to the actresses’ previous jokingly aggressive interactions, including their communication at the red carpet in 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

Many fans expressed the same concern previously, theorising that the two look upset with each other.
