Deepika Padukone reacts to being Bollywood's 'highest-paid' actress: 'Hopefully'

Deepika Padukone is sharing her unfiltered thoughts on being one of Bollywood’s highest-paid actresses.

The 39-year-old actress, who rose to fame after her ground-breaking appearance in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om, opened up to Forbes about her success in the industry.

She told the outlet, “I mean, I hope we can get to a day where we don’t have to talk about it. The fact that we have to highlight or underline that I’m the highest paid…Hopefully, we’re getting there.”

The star explained how acting has always had a profound impact on her, recalling how she was inspired by women on screen despite having limited exposure to films while growing up.

Deepika further went on to add, “We didn’t watch many movies, but the few we did see each year left a lasting impact. Every time I stepped into a cinema hall, I would watch these incredible women on screen and feel inspired.”

In addition, she expressed her desire to create a positive impact through her cinema, social media, as well as her brand.

On professional front, the actress last appeared in 2024 film Singham Again, marking her entry into Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe as DCP Shakti Shetty.
