Actress Alia Bhatt is finally changing her surname, two years after marrying Ranbir Kapoor.
During her appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show Season 2, Bhatt announced her decision to take her husband's surname.
The Gangubai actress, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Jigra, revealed that she has finally added a ‘Kapoor’ to her name.
In the promo, the actress could be seen correcting the host Kapil Sharma after he referred to her as Alia Bhatt, stating, "My name is not Alia Bhatt anymore; it’s Alia Bhatt Kapoor."
The 31-year-old National and Filmfare Award winner tied the knot with Ranbir Kapoor in April 2022 after dating him for several years.
However, this marks the first time the actress has publicly addressed her surname, having previously remained silent on the subject.
For the unversed, the couple welcomed their daughter, Raha Kapoor, in November 2022, just seven months after getting married.
On professional front, Alia is looking forward to her new film Jigra, set to release on October 11, 2024. The movie also stars Vedang Raina and Aditya Nanda.
