Kangana Ranaut finds common ground with Shah Rukh Khan ahead of film release
Kangana Ranaut draws parallels with Shah Rukh Khan's journey
Kangana Ranaut has finally found a mutual ground with the King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan.
The Queen actress, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Emergency, is getting candid about lacking ‘parental support.’
Comparing her stardom to that of Shah Rukh Khan’s, Kangana claimed that both the stars have made a significant impact in the film industry.
The 38-year-old actress, known for her unfiltered opinions, recently shared her experiences as an outsider in Bollywood on Raj Shamani's podcast.
She said, “I think I said me and Shah Rukh because we are two outsiders (who have truly made it). Shah Rukh Khan comes from Delhi and who is not from the film industry.”
She then drew a parallel with the Pathaan actor’s journey, noting that his transition from Delhi to Mumbai is a remarkable achievement for an 'outsider'.
Although they come from different worlds, she added, “He became the top-most star. I come from the mountains. His mother was a magistrate, he could speak good English, he went to a convent school and to come from Delhi to Mumbai, it is not much of a difference no?”
“But I come from a village and I am a girl and I came here as a teenager. So my journey is all the more difficult. Having said that, he also did not have parents so I draw parallels like that, but I think that’s about it.”
Kangana’s upcoming starrer Emergency is slated to release on September 6, 2024.
