Zak Williams, the 41-year-old son of late Robin Williams, penned an emotional tribute to father on what would have been his 73rd birthday.
He took to X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday to share the message, writing, “Dad, on what would be your 73rd birthday, I remember you for all the hope and joy you brought to the world.”
He continued, “There's not a week that goes by without someone sharing with me how you helped them through a dark time or a rough patch. I'm so grateful to be your son. Love you forever.”
The Dead Poets Society actor died in August 2014 at the age of 63. The veteran actor suffered from substance abuse and severe depression. Moreover, shortly before his death, the Mrs. Doubtfire star was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and was in the early stages of dementia.
Zak, who is a mental health advocate and the co-founder and CEO of Prepare Your Mind (PYM), a dietary supplement company, honoured his father after he welcomed his first child with his then fiancée Olivia June, in June 2019, just five years after Robin’s death.
Zak named his son McLaurin Clement Williams as the late actor’s middle name was McLaurin.
