Outraged Elon Musk threatens to ban Apple devices at his companies
Space X CEO tells Tim Cook he doesn’t want Apple’s "creepy spyware"
Tech billionaire Elon Musk lashed out on his social media platform X the night after Apple announced partnership with OpenAI to integrate artificial intelligence features into its iPhones, Digital Trends reported.
The Tesla chief executive told Apple CEO Tim Cook to "stop this creepy spyware" and threatened to ban iPhones on the premises of all his companies.
He wrote, "If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies. That is an unacceptable security violation."
Furthermore, he also wrote that "visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage."
Apple announced its collaboration with the ChatGPT maker on the opening day of its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
Just a few hours later, Musk fired off a series of posts expressing anger at the news, calling it “an unacceptable security violation.”
In addition, he also wrote in another post, "It’s patently absurd that Apple isn’t smart enough to make their own AI, yet is somehow capable of ensuring that OpenAI will protect your security and privacy! Apple has no clue what’s actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAI. They’re selling you down the river."
