Ronaldo breaks another record, proves himself as king of football
Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Al Nassr, is still doing great even though he's getting older.
The 39-year-old Al Nassr star made headlines once again as he scored two more goals in a game against Al Ittihad on Monday, making his total for the season 35.
His second goal was a header from a corner kick in the 69th minute. He broke the record for most goals in one season in the Saudi Pro League. The old record was 34 goals, set by Abderrazak Hamdallah in the 2018-19 season for Al Nassr.
Ronaldo did all this in just 31 league games. He also helped his teammates score 11 times. He set the record in the last game of the season. Al Nassr came second in the league, behind Al Hilal.
Al Nassr will clash with Al Hilal on Friday in the King Cup final.
Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in January 2023 and signed a two-and-a-half-year contract. He has scored a total of 893 goals in his career and is now just seven goals away from reaching a total of 900. Once he achieves the milestone, he will cement his status as one of football’s greatest players.
Ronaldo has won the prestigious award of Ballon d'Or five times — a great honour in the football world.
Ronaldo also leads the list of the best international football players, surpassing legends like Pele and Lionel Messi, with 128 international goals to his name from 206 appearances for Portugal..
