Karan Johar's new film announcement prompts fans requests for Shah Rukh Khan reunion

Karan Johar, who is celebrating his 52nd birthday today, announced a new directorial film, leaving fans urging him to reunite with Shah Rukh Khan.

On May 25, 2024, the Bollywood filmmaker took to his Instagram account to share a post, announcing his upcoming directorial project. 

The Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna director shared a photo of himself holding a notepad with the caption "Untitled Narration Draft. Directed By: Karan Johar. 25th May 2024." 

In the caption, Karan wrote, "Get…Set…Go" along with a red heart emoji.

Following the post, fans quickly flooded the comments section, urging Karan to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan once more.

One user penned, "One more with SRK please!!," while another exclaimed, “PLEASE BRING BACK SRK AND KAJOL!!!!!."

A third user commented, “Bring back SRK kajol, please."

In October last year, Karan expressed his desire to reunite with the Dunki star and Kajol during an interview with Pinkvilla.

He said, "Working with them would be a dream. And I hope I can do a story that justifies their legendary presence. I hope that happens. Working with them is like working with family."

In November, Times Now reported that Karan is considering an action film with Shah Rukh and Ranveer Singh.

As per the outlet, "Karan has never directed a full-on action film before. He wants to make his first full-on action film with Shah Rukh Khan. The only problem is, how to generate the kind of action never seen before by his fans, Shah Rukh’s not Karan’s."
