Sandeep Reddy Vanga shares insights on Ranbir Kapoor's scenes in 'Animal'

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga expressed that he would have heightened the level of brutality in Animal had he been aware of one reason regarding Ranbir Kapoor.

During an interview with Galatta Plus, Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga discussed how he crafted certain scenes in the film with Ranbir Kapoor in consideration.

In a conversation with Galatta Plus, Sandeep delved into the process of scripting a film for an established actor.

He also highlighted that when the actor has already made a mark, the writing becomes more voluntary as it complements the actor's strengths and skills, which are evident from their previous performances, giving a clear understanding of their capabilities.

Sandeep also disclosed the specific scene he penned with Ranbir Kapoor in mind for Animal.

He said, “That explanation scene of alpha beta, the kind of gaze he was giving and talking, the way he was explaining because usually he is such a great actor, so no matter it’s a lengthy scene, you know he will take pauses and he will talk, yet it will be interesting.”

"So that courage came from his acting capabilities. So usually if it is 2 paragraphs, I went to 4 knowing that it is Ranbir," he added.

"I didn’t know he was great in action or else I would have done that also more. More not in the terms of length, but in brutality.”

Animal was released on December 1, 2024.
