50 Cent misses shot: Not in running to succeed Diddy as vodka ambassador
Diddy's lawsuit exposes bias in treatment of celebrity spirits brands
50 Cent's hopes of becoming the new face of Diageo's Ciroc vodka brand have been dashed, despite initial rumors suggesting otherwise.
Following reports that the spirits company was considering the rapper for a brand ambassador role, TMZ has clarified that Diageo has no such plans and is not pursuing a partnership with 50 Cent.
The speculation arose amid ongoing changes at Ciroc, prompted by the recent departure of longtime partner, who had a 15-year collaboration with the brand.
Their relationship ended following a legal dispute initiated by 50 Cent against Diageo last year, which ultimately terminated their agreement.
Despite this setback, he continues to focus on his own ventures, including his successful liquor lines, as indicated by his strategic tagging in the post.
Insiders closely associated with 50 Cent expressed astonishment upon hearing reports suggesting his potential involvement with Diageo's Ciroc vodka brand, especially considering his own highly successful line of alcohol, Sire Spirits.
The original report implied that 50 Cent was initially poised to be the face of the vodka brand back in 2007, but Diddy allegedly intervened and secured the deal instead.
Speculations also hinted at the deal's substantial value, rumored to be as high as $100 million.
