Nicki Minaj forced to cancel her New Orleans shows on 'Doctor's order'
No new dates for Nicki Minaj's postponed shows have been announced yet
Nicki Minaj's illness led her to postpone her Monday performance in New Orleans.
Shortly before the rapper was scheduled to perform, the Smoothie King Centre announced via its X account, formerly known as Twitter.
"Due to doctor's orders, Nicki Minaj must reschedule her NOLA show tonight. As Nicki is still sick, our team does not want to run the risk of getting others sick, and Nicki would not be able to give NOLA the show they deserve," the announcement read.
Fans were urged to hang onto their tickets in a subsequent message, noting that the venue is "working diligently to find a new date."
The 41-year-old musician initially made mention of feeling under the weather early on Saturday morning.
"Barbz pls send me healing energy. woke up feeling like I had Covid. Thank God I don’t. You guys are just everything. I appreciate you. I love you so much," wrote Minaj on X.
In another post, she noted that her voice " is probably going to sound a lil diff."
Minaj assured her fans that it would be her "best tour by far" preceding the tour's commencement in Oakland, California, earlier this month.
"Just enjoy the flight, my love. It’s beautiful tho…I haven’t attached any add’l names & it’s selling like hot cakes. 17 years later. Thank you all. This will be my best tour BY FAR to date. You have my word. You will get a hundred times your money’s worth," wrote Minaj on X in January.
