Don Lemon could 'dent' Elon Musk’s earnings
It seems that Elon Musk is never out of the hot waters
As tech billionaire Elon Musk abruptly cancelled Don Lemon’s new show on X, formerly Twitter, NewsWeek reported that the journalist could receive a huge payout from the company.
Musk, who wears many hats, bought X in 2022 and vowed that he would champion free speech through the social media platform.
In line with his promise, “a platform to Lemon—who was fired from CNN in April following accusations of misogyny on set—and other beleaguered public figures and cultural commentators”, the publication reported.
But all did not turn out to be well. Lemon has claimed that the billionaire has terminated his partnership within hours after he took his interview for the The Don Lemon Show.
Amid the controversy, journalist Kara Swisher said that she believes that Lelon, a former CNN journalist, could get a huge sum of money from X.
"Elon Musk sent a terse text to his reps: 'Contract terminated' after an interview Lemon did with Musk last Friday that was not to the adult toddler's liking, including questions about his ketamine use," Swisher wrote on X.
"X will have to pay out, so another unnecessary cost to a business going in the wrong direction," she continued.
While legal experts say that Musk would have obviously included several clauses to safeguard his interests, others say complete details of the agreement would give a clear picture about who’s in hot waters in this situation.
