Donald Trump calls NYC boycotting truckers 'great patriots' — after $355m ruling
Growing national movement of truck drivers plan to stop delivering to New York City in support of Donald Trump
A group of truckers, who want to boycott New York following the $355 million fraud decision against Donald Trump, have been praised by the former president as "great patriots."
In support of Trump, a trucker stated on Friday that a growing national movement of other drivers planned to stop delivering to New York City starting on Monday, according to Daily Mail.
"Such an honour to have so many Great Patriots on the side of freedom!' Trump said on Truth Social.
He added: "Joe Biden’s Unfair and Dangerous Weaponisation of Law Enforcement is a serious threat to Democracy. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
The truckers said that they are considering legal action because a New York court ordered the former president to pay a $355 million fine in connection with a civil fraud finding.
In a video posted on X, a driver going by the handle Chicago1Ray claimed to have spoken with "at least ten" of his coworkers, all of whom had decided to begin turning down loads for the city on Monday.
The number of truckers involved was unclear, but Chicago1Ray posted again after Trump praised their proposal on his Truth Social page. "Trump just posted my video and picture on his Truth Social account, pretty f***en cool..."
"God Bless America. God bless Trump and God bless every Truck driver in this country."
He added later: "I'm just one of the many millions of truckers who believe in God and love this Country."
"Truckers for Trump ain't just a slogan it's real."
