The UK is expected to be warmer than many other European nations later this week due to the forecast of sunny weather in several locations, Metro reported Wednesday.

According to the Met Office, spring may finally be here because temperatures in some regions of Britain are higher than those typically seen in France and Italy during this time of year.

Thursday's high in London could reach 16°C, which would be warmer than Milan's 13°C and Nice's 15°C, and more in line with Spanish temperatures.

But with forecasts of potential snowfall for next week, the north-south divide in Scotland will continue to thwart any indications of spring.

Despite the lower temperatures, many regions will remain mostly gloomy with intermittent showers and drizzle, according to Metro.

On Thursday, there will be a lot of rain moving east, but Friday will be brighter due to the above-average temperatures.

On Saturday, rain is expected in the west, but the east should see continued moderate temperatures and dry weather.

Higher pressure is expected on Sunday, bringing with it sunny or bright spells for most of the United Kingdom, according to the longer-term forecast.

Clear skies, however, may result in fog and frost at night.

Although there might be a few stronger showers to the west and north, the majority of people will have a dry day.
