Cristiano Ronaldo's 'China Tour' tickets sold out in almost record time
Cristiano Ronaldo will captain Al-Nassr in friendlies on in Shenzhen against Shanghai Shenhua, Zhejiang FC
Tickets for Cristiano Ronaldo's "China Tour" are said to have sold out in a matter of hours after being announced on Wednesday with Chinese football fans racing to reserve their seats.
The Portuguese player, who is well-known in China, will captain Al-Nassr in friendlies on January 24 and 28, respectively, in Shenzhen against Shanghai Shenhua and Zhejiang FC.
There were numerous online sites claiming sold-out status within hours of the tickets going on sale, reportedly due to the huge demand for tickets.
Some shoppers shared their sadness after missing out, but happy customers shared their delight on various social media networks.
Following years of incredible dominance on the football pitch and an incredible career spanning nearly two decades, Cristiano Ronaldo has recently become the subject of "retirement" rumours.
After leaving Manchester United abruptly and joining Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo—who is still arguably the best player in the league at 38—has come under intense criticism from both supporters and detractors.
Ronaldo was the year's top goalscorer at the end of 2023. Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe, each with 52, are following him. An amazing recovery for a guy who managed only 16 goals in 2022. If he keeps doing this, there is no reason why CR7 can't reach the pinnacle of success.
