Alia Bhatt weighs in on playing villain in her Hollywood debut, Heart of Stone
Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is starring opposite Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in Tom Harper’s movie
Alia Bhatt has recently weighed in on playing bad character in her upcoming Hollywood debut, Heart of Stone.
Alia, who has never done villain roles in Bollywood, will portray the Keya Dhawan character, who is a “villain” in Tom Harper’s movie, on a mission to steal the “Heart” from Gal Gadot character (Rachel Stone).
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Alia, who is currently basking in the success of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, shared her experience of working as a villain for the first time in the movie.
“I think there’s a lot of purpose and dedication in being the bad guy because, to me, I’m not the bad guy,” said the 30-year-old.
The Darlings actress stated, “To me, I’m the right guy. Keya’s passion, her requirement, need, or want for the Heart has a reason, it has a purpose. And she believes in that.”
Elaborating on her role, Alia told the outlet, “For her, she’s not the bad guy. So, you need to fully commit to that moment as an actor.”
“I think it’s about displaying both her sides with clarity and focus,” added the Highway actress.
Earlier, Gal also called Alia “amazing” when asked about her working experience with the latter in an interview with the Press Trust of India.
“I think we share so much in common. And we’re both very dedicated and hard workers in what we do, but we also are very family-oriented. It was like the smoothest getting into a relationship I’ve had,” remarked the Wonder Woman star.
Moreover, director Tom also gushed over Alia’s performance in the movie, describing her as a “formidable and intelligent talent with great charisma”.
Meanwhile, Heart of Stone will release Friday on Netflix.
