PESHAWAR: US Consul General William J. Martin and Coordinator for Economic and Development Assistance, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Leon S. Waskin called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmed Khan here on Tuesday.
The guests remained with the governor for some time and discussed matters of mutual interest with particular reference of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) and situation in the region. The governor apprised them about steps being taken to bring peace and stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata.
He also highlighted the steps underway for ensuring sustainable peace and stability particularly in Fata, said a handout.Talking on various points, the governor also apprised them about the steps and endeavours of the government to ensure the dignified return and rehabilitation of displaced persons.
He said socio-economic uplift and well-being of the people of Fata will continue to remain a top priority with special focus on bringing further improvement in working of healthcare system and educational facilities in the area. On the occasion the Governor said that tribesmen had rendered great sacrifices for the peace of entire region and now the time has come to reciprocate their sacrifices.
